Reliquary – Alternate Title: Réliquaire – France, 1989 – Sculpture -Mixed media: 246 metal boxes with cloth, 9 metal drawers with photographs, wire, electric lamps, and wires
Christian Boltanski’s piece Reliquary I found interesting due to the images that have been overlaid on top of the metal and how they have been blurred and so you can make out the features but they are quite dark and mysterious to look at. The way that each image has a lamp facing it specifically at the middle of the image is quite interesting because it makes you wonder what the artist was thinking because there is the yellow glow around each lamp and you can see all the wires draping across the front of all the images.
