I found Chuck Close’s work interesting in the way that he grids up the images before he starts to work on them so that he can focus on small sections until it becomes a full image. Even thought the finished image is a good piece of work on its own, I actually find the small image that he has gridded up to be more interesting and it draws my eyes more because I can see how the artist has worked rather than just seeing a finished product.
